Introduction - Ashes Urn ranges
At the time of arranging the cremation service families often provide the funeral director instructions for the laying to rest of the ashes.
However, as there are so many possibilities for the final resting place of a loved one's ashes, you may wish to leave any decision until after the funeral.
When completing the authority for the disposal of cremated remains, the majority of crematoria offer the following options:
- Scatter / burial in place deemed as appropriate by the family or as requested by the deceased prior to death
- Scatter / burial in a dedicated cremated remains plot
- Disperse the cremated remains in the Crematorium grounds
- Inter in a new or existing family grave
- Retain the cremated remains at the Crematorium
- Release the cremated remain to the client / family
- Release the cremated remains to the Funeral Director.
In respect of the City of London Cemetery / Crematorium, they will send Form CLC1 direct to the family following the funeral service, requesting information of their wishes regarding the final resting place for the ashes or instruction to release.
